Cultivar Pruning
An integral part of the "Morgenster system" involves
the inclusion of mechanical pruning to aid both quality production and increased
return on investment.
By utilising the Tanesini Orchard Pruning machinery, the olive
trees are trained in the monocone shape (central leader) - a shape which
can be successfully applied to citrus, other fruit, forest trees and
ornamentals. Widia saw dishes perform sharp and precise cuttings of
either young shoots or branches, allowing for rapid
healing.
The steering movement of the orchard machines allow for sharp
pruning so as to preserve the canopy shape while a top section of small
steerable saws allow for angled or flat pruning up top.
